I am going to make a prediction
2010 will be the year of the Shooting Head
2011 will be the year of the Skagit
2012 will see a return to Double Taper lines
2013 will be the year that Windcutter style lines are re-discovered
2014 will see the re-launch of Mid-Speys
2015 will see the discovery of Long Bellied Spey Lines
And sometime in the distant future, we will be able to buy a continuous tapered Spey Line, made of Silk, that the average angler can Switch Cast about 50 yards or more with in the style of Alexander Grant using a Spliced Greenheart Rod somewhere between 15 to 18ft long
It can be a bit like GroundHog Day out there!

tweedbunnet, I think your prediction may very well come true. The short heads have gotten many newcomers out on the rivers here in the States. That's a good thing in that it gets them more tuned in to better fish conservation and management, which is needed. I use all of them, but my heart belongs to the longline! ;D
