If it is indeed that spot an interesting story. A few years ago I fished the beat with some Welsh friends,mid March, in similar conditions to the picture on some of the days. A fish or two were caught but one friend hadn’t had as much as a pull. After a heavy night on Wednesday he was not for fishing on Thursday morning. It took a bit of persuasion to get him to fish, but the weather had cleared and....dangling his fly in the head of the run below Pegleg, having barely started to fish, he took a fantastically fresh springer of 22lbs.
