Just to try and show some other things, not my idea but found on jan eric granbo site The flies use mostly synthetics the only natural in them is the hen hackle i even used gel spun thread I plan to muck about with angel hair, twinkle etc to make synthetic hackles, note they are already doing this in norway BOTTOM FLY Yellow white wing(think frodden tied original) Tube, eumer tube clear, small in large Butt, black lite brite Tail,White flouro fibre Body, rear 1/2 flou yellow flatbraid,2nd 1/2 yellow lite brite Underwing, yellow angel hair, then yellow slinky fibre tied post style, followed by twinkle pearl or mirage over 1st hackle, yellow hen over tie in point of wing, where double back Final wing, white slinky fibre tied post style, couple stips of pearl twinkle or mirage over Final hackle long white cock over tie in point, where wing is double backed Head, silver cone small dab w/proof super glule on tube slide on cone, then heat burr end of tube Fnal touch with scissors taper reaer of wing and tail I put coats of hard as nails two or three on cones beads to prevent tarnish(by the way anyone notice how coloured cones loose paint from hitting stones etc poss even anchor on single spey as it seems to be same position of loss ) 1st fly my varient,is more or less as above the tail is changed to yellow flou fibre, final wing black slinky fibre,,black hen hackle and gold cone I got the h2o slinky fibre from uk saltwater flies plastic bucktail sub its the transparent wings i like

Good looking flies.
Have never tried tying with the synthetics you mentioned, but maybe I will have to give it a try. There are definately some thought provoking patterns and techniques on Jan Eric's site.

Think originals used the version of slinky with sparkle already in,not sure of name but when seen the price for the amount, thought with me being that charismatic i would put the sparkle in the packet myself ,in truth tight fisted
