Howay chaps help me out, was given some of these off a friend from Ireland a while ago, never fished with one before, whats the general setup for fishing these, ie floater, length of leader etc....any help appreciated....cheers BJA

Aye when i first got them was thinking about that Martin, but looks like a lot of work went into tying them so dont want the rocks to smash them...unless absolutely necessary!!

Can be fished with any line, but the problem is the amount of drag they create. As such this drag creates lift, which as a result the flies are inclined to fish quite high in the water. When fished with a floating line they can have a tendency to skate when fished in anything but a slow current. I would therefore recommend a sinking line, tip or appropriate polyleader in order to get them down in the water. The density depending on the flow and pace of current being fished.

thanks for tis will give them a go with a sink tip line as quite fast waer i was going to try them on, regards BJA
