Well as us folks in Deeside know we have had an awful lot of rain over the last couple of weeks. I decided to get out of the office for a little while and take some pictures and video. I was amazed at the Falls of Feugh with the huge spate roaring through the gorge where the falls are. I am sure some of you who know this popular tourist spot to watch leaping salmon. They were not jumping there on this day though and here's why. These images are from the Feugh road and foot bridges looking upstream and downstream. Here is some video footage too. vimeo.com/7202438We have been fortunate that spawning activity will not have commenced at the time this footage was taken a few weeks ago. However there is a real danger when floods like this do happen that Redds get destroyed by large shifts in gravel caused by large debris like fallen trees gouging them out when they travel downstream etc.

Fabulous pictures, the sound of that water must be quite something from the bridge.
