Would be a great fly for salmon on Ireland's loughs, when fished in lough style, dibbled with rod tip held high. The fly borrows from the style of a gosling which I've had grilse on from Loughs Melvin, Beltra and Conn.

Dave
the more I look at this fly, the more it grows on me. Good fly, I would think, for the loch and also for those rivers that are running clear in summer after a rise.

Nice flee, and would imagine a bit of movement in it as well with those long hackles.

Nice flee, and would imagine a bit of movement in it as well with those long hackles. I gave it a swim in the burn beside my house where I test all my flies, and it does move quite nicely. The doesn't look as bright as I thought it would in the water, the teal, sort of blends through with the body colours giving a nice effect. I think I will tie up some more of them and give them a proper swim next season.
