Jings. Looks like it should be filled wi' Cutty Hunk , lashed to a 6' boat rod and sent off to catch a North Sea tunny . ;D

Its the first off the line for testing and it will now be given a work out on the river Kharlovka in June. As for cost for a precision bit of kit I suspect in the region of £2k . It looks and feels the money. Its a case of looking at different designs and spool types. I put it on 14 and 15 ft Stingers tonight to see how the balance feels. Ideal for shooting heads and underhand rod techniques-about 12 oz I guess.

Looks like its been turned from a nice billet and I'm sure the gearing will be ultra smooth But 2 GRAND?For a fly reel??? ::)You can buy a gearbox for a porshe for less than that! Go on then,I'll take one on appro' ;D Heavy but very nice and I'm afraid.........a rich mans folly Got any seconds, for ne'er do wells to cuddle on lonely nights? Lush

A nice bit of kit and imho far better value than the Zane Ti with an rrp of 400% higher.
Are there any plans to manufacture it in alternative materials and scale the components, eg. An Alu alloy that's anodised?
Interesting project and nice to see some manufacturers thinking "outside the box"

I better not say it would not look out of place on a Century then! A Century Kompressor WR300.
Seriously though, it looks superb and best of luck with your project!

Congratulations Nomlas, your on your way to making one of the best.
There was a zane to discussion recently and I suggested that it was grossly over price and could be made for half the cost. Your reel is not only technically well designed but in that pricepoint that makes it a credible option and value, not just brand decadence or "bling".
Best of luck with the rest of the project, I'll watch with intrest

Well done Nomlas,
Great to see tackle which is obviously at the best quality end of the scale being produced in Scotland. Hope to see it in production soon.
