Seen a few Purple creations posted, and I thought I would add my tying of a Purple Frances. Neil

Is that fox in the tail Neil? I do like purple ;D Its Calf Tail that I used. I usually use Fox in the tail, but didn't have any in the correct shade to match the bristles and Body material. I see from some of the flies you posted that you have a thing for Purple . You will be right at home with ACW ;D.

I only tied it at the end of the season, and due to a serious lack of water during the last 6 weeks of the season it never got a swim.

Nice fly Neil.
I have had fish on the red /black and orange francis so far but havn't had much chance like you to try the other colours.
I'm not sure if the colour really matters with a francis, I think it's more to do with the bristles/hackle stems annoying the fish

I think you may be right regarding the colour, but they do look good in the water, and the bristles/ hackle stems pulsate enticingly, and they do have a very shrimp like profile. I will endeavor to give them more swimming lessons next season, hopefully with good results .
