Wee video of the opening in Helmsdale - mild weather compared to the snow of last year. No fresh fish on Wednesday 11th, but there was a good looking baggot photographed and released. Here's my video URL on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM4oqD0enlwThe fishing was free to visitors for the first 4 days (last week), a brilliant opportunity for anyone who wishes to fish this spectacular fly water - and every chance of a fresh fish. The opening day last season did produce a springer - and yours truly on Friday, after a total of 8 well-mended kelts, stupidly cowped the net trying to land a clean fish - and in it went for an early bath. IGFA sea angling rules state if you even touch the leader, a fish is counted as caught. But not in my book when it comes to salmon. Good luck to it. Tight lines everyone for 2012, wherever your rods takes you. Aye Mike Shepley

Great stuff Mike, it was good to see you last week. Sorry to hear about your fish, i'm back up for the week from this monday so i'll see if I can get it. Do you have a link for the older vids you showed us in the Bridge (the sea fishing one and I think the others were called predator bites?) on the Tuesday night or is there somewhere I can purchase them from.
Cheers Paul
