I've just put a short video up online about the fantastic wee River Forss in Caithness. I was lucky enough to film salmon and grilse in the bay at the mouth of the river waiting for rain. You can view it at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2BjPyquAqUAlso a dedicated website: www.fishforss.netDetails of recent record catches 2010 and 2011 are on the website. Self and pal have decided, with reluctance, to sell our two-rod rotating beat on Forss week 23. (early July) 2011 produced 3 fish to one rod on the Monday morning, although we struggled with lack of water for the rest of the week. 2010 was much better with huge numbers of fish (I rose 26 in one day) all on light tackle, small flies and trout fly rods. I coined the phrase "May the Forss be with You" some 20 years ago - well any "Starwars" fan would - it's hardly original. I'm still keeping my April rod - combines the opening of the superb Caithness trout fishing on the lochs, including Watten - with some of the best spring salmon fishing in the north. Only our rods fish the river then - up to the falls. Tight Lines - I'll post the for sale notice in that category. Always happy to show potential punters the river. Mike S. Attachments:
