Tied this wee shrimp flee tonight. The head hackle is from the bottom of a purple cock hackle. I carefully stripped the fluffy marabou like material from one side of the hackle stem, leaving the webbing in place that atatches the fibres, and then wound on like a hackle.. I think it should move nicely, while being strong enough to retain some shape and not flatten out. The pattern for anyone interested is. Hook size 14 vmv LWD Thread red 14/0 griffiths Tail Purple bucktail with black crystal hair Tag and rib silver wire. Body blend of black seals fur and cerise lite brite Wing claret ahmrest pheasant tippets throat grey squirell hackle.. stripped soft plume from base of cock hackle. head red. Hope you like it.. I know UG won't like it cos he doesn't like purple All the best. Dave.
