Has anybody found the ultra soft coating on the carron twin spey lines easy to damage and prone to wear easily? mine has started to crack near the end after only a month, great casting lines though. What are the new scott mackenzie lines like in comparison, i have some very good reports but can anything really beat a carrons casting performance ie loop morphology and overall distance? Would really like to try one is that possible anywhere
Regards Aaron

The G2 lines use an Airflo Polyurethane coating which gives durability whilst being supple.
As for the Tapers, Andrew designed with Carron and has been with Dtx for a year, so try one and see what you think.
The Carron 55' lines are cracking, lovely to use. Likewise the 56' G2's are superb too.

The 55ft carrons really are brilliant. Have not yet tried the g2 56 ft dtx lines so can't comment. Yet ! ;D

Carrons are great though i have one or two problems with durability with mine, was just wondering if the new mackenzie lines were better/or equal to their loop stability etc, as i have tried nearly every line out there and nothing has come close to the carrons in that dept.

I agree, as I have yet to try any better than the carrons. As I said though, I have yet to try the g2 dtx lines. Have heard talk of coating problems there too ?

Have heard talk of coating problems there too ? News to me, the new stock G2 Speylines are awaiting dispatch from the manufacturer so I can't see how there's been any coating issues. They should be available next week. The feedback has been excellent on the coatings from my angling colleagues who have tried the shooting heads.

They have been available for some time from GAC. (the G2 spey lines). In fact one sold on e-bay recently also. How could this be if they are yet to be dispatched from the manufacturer ?

The line in question was the float/int tip i also had a 15ft 5.6ips Rio versi leader on the front, the head turned the tip over with no probs what so ever Rod used 15' LPXE
