Mine done just that Tony, about 30' from the loop.
That was a replacement for one that cracked after a months use.
Cheap nasty crap.
Never had a problem with ridge or mono.

Hi hingin, Have heard about this stuff. Am I correct in saying that you immerse it in warm water and give it a good stretch. This seemingly eradicates any memory. Like yourself I am interested in acquiring a 30 yard length of 50lb but was wondering if 30lb would do at a push. By the I am getting used to the 15' catapult. Fair pleased with it.

Hi tomba
Yes with any of these mono running line give them a good bathing in boiling water keep topping up with boiling water for about 15minutes tie it to something and give it a good stretch the iron silk has less memory than the rest of the mono running lines awfy hard to get gie near impossible infact try the stinger running line by loomis and treat it the same way i,am trying out diawa tournament 50lb let you know how i get on with it soon as i take it out fishing. AYE Martin yer right nowt wrong with ridge running line.
