Years gone by bus loads of anglers would desend on a river and use baits like the diving minow or worms. Then the protection orders arrived the number of anglers dramaticly declined how ever so did the runs of salmon is there a link? I would say that there is more large trout now than then, what do these fish feed on, small dark olives or a three inch par?
Well done Stevie I only wish you could have claimed a couple yourself. Given a month or two the fish would have had a chance to feed more but thats fishing for you!

I for one would have been "chuffed" to have caught them. Bob
