Does anyone have any experience of this beat regarding spring fishing?
Many thanks.

Tilbouries has some good spring water - deep, even flow, with some good holding spots. In Lawson's pool, Tilbouries has one of the Dee's longest pools - I often felt I was in there for days before reaching the tail...
Alfred's Pot and Cairnton will also hold springers but most of the early fish are going to run much, much higher upriver so you'll be fishing for a) runners and b) fish having a wee rest before proceeding upstream. I note they've had at least 3 springer so far this season.
As for numbers, they pick away during most months of the season culminating in some superb back-end fishing when all pools are bouncing. I think they had 300 fish last year.
The beat is run as a syndicate although the owner will allow day rods when available. Just give Willie Banks a call.
As an aside, Willie is a AAPGAI "Master" and will be able to polish any casting issues or give you a "casting service". He is a very, very fine teacher.

Thank's for that advice sloggi. Fishdee don't show any catch statistics for the beat but I guessed this was probably down to the fact it is syndicated.
I suppose if it is mostly syndicate rods fishing, a true account of catches could be hard to find, understandably so.
I've taken a couple of days in late spring so fingers crossed.
Cheers.

The lawson is a great pool - Have only fished there a couple of times and had fish both times, interestingly I hooked and landed a 10lb+ Pike at the head of the Lawson - That came as a surprise. Willie Banks is a top guy. It is one of the few beat where you can still cast with conmfidence if the river is up 5 feet or so, the island above the hut is a decent cast if you get enough water.
