Email received today, always trust the local man on the river. He's probably got photos on his website to prove that the river is in good fettle.
"A glorious opportunity has just arisen to fish the final day of the season this year on the Tay. The Cargill beat which can accommodate 6 rods is available on 15 October. The price of the beat is £2,400 + VAT + arrangement fee. Included in the rent are the services of 2 ghillies and there are 2 boat on the beat. Tayside has just enjoyed some good rainfall and the river, from our man on the scene, is looking in very fine fettle."
