Aboyne Castle Donnie and myself had an enjoyable day up at this lovely beat that neither of us had fished before. Donnie had checked the river levels that morning and it looked as there was going to be a bit of a rise that morning and sure enough we had a 6" rise but no colour that fell away by lunch time. I managed to land a nice wee grilse in Tanar mouth on a sz 13 Parky and lost 2 throughout the day(Lorne,Simmons) but Donnie(monkey machine)had 4 by the time I left at 5.30 and while I was driving back over Cairn o mount I had 2 texts to say he landed another 2 with the best at 18lb:) Lorne Jocky Fyfe Simmons(had a couple of pulls level with the stonework) Grilse Alex taking scales and DNA sample
