First of all if I don't look over the moon in the photos it was because I was speechless. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D First person I spoke to was Roynon on the Og,I think he could hear me from there! A big thanks to him jj,Banner,Ren,Alun,Tuniwes. After countless trips to the river and god knows how much in diesel I was elated with this male sewin. Fish took the fly well and bored up and down the river not really showing itself. With a good 15 minute fight the fish was netted. Pictures are not the best as I had to show another angler how to use the didgi camera,a couple of bottles in the post for him. Fish took a size 8 black/silver double on 12Ib maxima and a slow intermediate line. In the net the beauty wieghed 18Ib 70z. I then spent 20 minutes in the river with the fish and it swam off strong,I got so distracted when I got back to the car I left my rod behind!! One happy guy. Spencer............. sewinfly........................

What a great experience to share with us Spencer. Thats a great trout and what fun to encounter and land a fish of that size at night in the dark ! I hope you manage to get a cast made of it.

Finished off my Towy trips with a small fresh hen fish today as the season close's on the 17th and with work will not be able to get out this week. The river was in great condition and about a dozen running fish showed in a short window of opportunity but only 1 taker and all went quiet. sewinfly............
