Thanks again Martin, there will be some reports here, blanks most often as the Severn like the Wye is a shadow of its glory . Unlike the wye it seems to have cooperation from most involved in caring for the river. A Birmingham AA ticket for £30 .00 gives acess to some super water ,with a couple more club tickets there is plenty of fishing ,some as scenic as the Wye ,some more urban. Hopefully some of those with more knowlege of the Severn can tell you more.I have only touched the tip of this river, its the closest river for salmon for me and its a 3 hour thrash on a good day!

When does the season open at Diglis Weir for mere mortals? Is it 7th Feb (as per Alan's fishing tackle site) or 1st Feb?

if your having a day let me know mate(i'm on a odd days ticket) stump... Thanks, I will do. Never fished the Severn before but I've been inspired by the thread on Hoppy's STF so determined to get over there this year. Those Severn springers look like real belters. My 3" Yellow Bellys are ready to go...

I'm lucky Dusty as i live 5 mins away from the Severn and Teme(had a few fom the Teme aswell this season)..i've promised myself to fish a few old haunts in the spring a little further upstream, one beat fishes superb when the temp drops right down and is £5 a day or £2.50 half a day....and has a chance of producing to the fly...
