I thought I should try and get the ball rolling with this.
Fly swaps are a great way for all our members who tie flies to share there patterns and to gain some new ones.
Being the first swap on the forum, I will set it for December, but I will accept names for those who wish to participate from today.
Rules. Maximum of 10 members. . each tying 10 identical patterns . Patterns to be posted to myself by the last day of december. Along with a stamped addressed envelope for return postage.
A picture of the fly along with the dressing is to be posted on the thread.
On completion of tying Pm me for my postal address
. I will then compile a set containing 1 of each and post to each tyer
Each month will have a different theme in order to keep things fresh and keep our tyers on there toes.
As it is that time of the year again, most of us as stocking up our spring fly boxes, so the theme for this first swap will be SPRING FLIES.
please apply via this thread. (Including intended pattern) 1 Builnacraig (Flies received) 2 Madkeen (brown templdog) Flies Received 3 Tweedbunnet GBWG 1 1/4 inch(Flies Received) 4 Willhamo (green highlander variant) 5 CB (Black and yellow tube) Flies Received 6 Andy 7 Underghillie (Flies Received) 8 Tyneytone (garry dog bottle tube) 9 2milebridght (Flies Received) 10Daijones
I look forward to getting this up and running.
Dave.

Well Dave ... Since this is the trout and salmon forum do we tie one or the other for the swaps? How would you guys feel about a wee black & yellow tube? Simple and trusted but should be equally effective for both species.

We still have spaces for this our first flyswap.
I would encourage any member no matter of ability to join in this swap, it's great opportunity to gain some deadly new patterns.
Dave.
