Hi folks, a new member here who has a severe urge to buy at least one of the above rods and possibly two. (obviously different lengths !!)
My question is , where should I look to get the best deal price wise ? Any suggestions welcome,
Wellhooked

I'm going to GAC tomorrow and I notice that they say on their web site 10% off all on line purchases. Guess what I will be asking them tomorrow when I am there

I purchased the 9/10 Mackenzie line through gac with the discount, I did ask if I could order online and collect in store but they said it had to be posted out so that was a weeks wait. I thought about the 12ft with the discount but just got the signature 12 for a nice price instead.

Any suggestions welcome, Wellhooked I was talking to a shop owner, and there was deffo no discount on the dtx range to be had,as for a wee something thrown in along with the purchase that would be up to the shop i suppose. I think most retailers will be more concerned with getting new dtx stock when they need it, than knocking a few £££ of to increase sale's They are selling no probs at the price they are from what I'm hearing.

I can't stop thinking about it. That's one wee belter of a rod. The good lady had me spend my fishing fund on a Tv and Ps3 this week so any thoughts of the dtx have vanished now, along with any peace in the flat. Ill console myself with the signature for now I was thinking a mach 55 or possibly an afs 8/9 on it

Havn't tried the 12' Sig , but 9/10 AFSs and 9/10 short cut Guideline heads fly off the 14' Sig.

Hi all..........in a bit of a quandry here. Used to have a 15' GT4 (not catapult), and found it rather underpowered , although , maybe it wasn,t the rod's fault , but rather my poor casting as I'm certainly no expert. However, a friend let me try a Normark Golden Eagle 15' , which def has the guts but , has been described by some on here( mentioning no names um martin!) as a pole lol. I get on better with this rod tho its on the heavy side. My question is...........go for a gt4 catapult or the DTX? Maybe those with experience of either rods would like to give an opinion?? Or what other rod might be the answer? I use an afs 10/11 sh with an integrated inter tip. Cheers for any reply!

I don't think you would go far wrong with the 15ft DTX , I used one for a couple of hrs last weekend and the rod has plenty of guts as you put it and will handle s/heads to long belly lines easily.
