Had a day on Murthly 2 yesterday.
Lovely bit of water and a very well kept Beat with great banking to fish from in the highish conditions. River was rising all day. Two fish caught and one lost by the other 3 guys fishing the beat which was great considering the conditions. I tried the fly first then spinning with a big toby which I have always enjoyed.
Always felt there was a chance of a fish for myself but failed to touch one.
The Tronach and the other pools really are quality for the fly.
Grateful thanks to the Ghillie Tony Black for showing me the Beat and to the others for the good company.
Will definitely be returning, hopefully when it is a bit lower.
All in all, a great day out.

It was and I really enjoyed myself all round. Great to be away from the so-called Big Smoke for a day in the country. Was down at Holylee last weekend. Full of month old residents who ignored my size 12, 13 and 14 wee black offerings. They even had the temerity not to take a bigger McCormick's Shrimp - the rascals! Great place in the sun but better when there is a foot or more on the guage.
