Monday
Big water today, 2ft 7in, quite a lot of colour today, lost a fish in Woodside in the morning on the Toby, colour better after lunch and a fish out Boatpool just below boats, 6lbs and fresh caught by Neil Campbell strikes once more on a 2in Willie Gunn and a fast sink tip!! J
Tuesday
What a good water today 2ft and steady you would sell your wife and kids for this in October but this in June and only one fish today from Woodside caught by George Bennett on a Pot Bellie Pig –Tube, nice fresh fish only seen a few in afternoon but only down Woodside.
Wednesday
Water 1ft10 and clear, very few fish showing today, thought they would be jumping on the line today, tried out the new bbq today Jim Reed brought a fresh seatrout that he caught the day before and did a wonderful job of cooking it Shirley Bell supplied salad and pudding, some wine was taken and a good time had by all J
Thursday
1ft 4in today and looking good 2 fish lost in Woodside in morning, not a good start by Calum, then he lost another 2 in the afternoon tut tut not good for my returns but we had a 7lbs seatrout out the Dish caught by Gregor Murray, happy man J not much showing today though.
Friday
Rain all day only one rod fishing today water came up at lunch time 2ft 4in at finish of play and brown.
Saturday
No fishing today 2ft 6in and rising, very brown today rained all day 3f 6in at 2pm
7ft 6in on gauge at 8am on Sunday morning big flood for June lets see if there is any fish to come, should bring in the seatrout i hope, don’t need any more rain for the next few weeks

3ft 6in and very colored, no fishing today, trying to strim the flat grass on river banks not good L
Tuesday
2ft 7in and looking good one fish tail of stream about 12lbs nice fish caught by Richard Farnsworth (Pictures Attached), no fish showing today, not one seen all day it will drop over night and hope some fish arrive soon.
Wednesday
Where are the fish??? 4 rods and did not see a fish all day, 2ft and looking good. Wednesday seems to be BBQ day so come on the rest of you get the sausages and buns out J we might get some nice weather to go with it!!
Thursday
More rain today and lots of it!! will it ever stop this month? 1 Seatrout out of Woodside, 4lbs second point. The boys gave up at 4pm, to wet and no fish showing L
Friday
River bigger today 6ft.
Saturday
Still brown 5ft no fishing.
Let’s hope it stops raining soon…….

Monday
Big water today and brown, 3ft on gauge, no good for the fly, one rod came and spun in afternoon but no fish.
Tuesday
2f 6in and falling hard day today only seen one fish between 4 rods, seems to be no fish to catch unless you are fishing Ravenswood on a Monday.
Wednesday
River back up 2ft 9in and coloured only one rod tried today seen some seatrout in the Cromweil, no good for the fly wish it would stop raining now!!
Thursday
River back up to 3ft and rising, 2 rods fish till lunch with the spinner, to brown in afternoon L
Friday
3f 6in and coloured, no fishing today!!
Saturday
More rain over night 4f 6in today, no fishing, one mad man came to fish the fly at 6:30 pm mad mad man J

And once more rain over night, river still in flood!!
Wednesday
Fishing today at last hooray!!! fish about today. Shirley bell landed a fish in woodside 10lbs and fresh, fist point no 8 Ally Shimp, first fish she has played and landed by herself one very happy lady her second for the year(Picture Attached). Ian Pollit had another 2 fish in the evening both from Woodside far side 8 and 9 lbs
Thursday
Water dropping hard and clearing well, 2 ft, and a fish out the Cromwiel 7lbs some colour on fish, some fish showing today in most of the pools
Friday
Water 1ft6 today and the sun is out today nice to feel it on your face not good for the fishing mind, no fish today.
Saturday
Full house today and a fish out Sangster’s, 6lbs returned, caught by Carl Simmons, a fish lost Boatpool on for 5 mins before jumping and throwing the hook, also 2 fish lost in Woodside on the Sun Ray.
Hope to see some more fish in the book next week so come on boys or i will have to get Mrs Bell to show you how to catch them haha
Also no buggie, so back to walking up hill.

Monday
Water down to 9 inch today and clear 2 fish lost, one dish, one Woodside but landed a 6 lbs fish out stream caught by Bob Laird on a black red tube, hard work in afternoon someone cutting weed above us L
Tuesday
Full house today and decent day for a change weather wise, fish on the move, small pockets of fish about but hard to catch only one fish today out the dish a old spring fish 7 lbs with lots of colour caught by Rodger Herbert on a yellow Gledswood No 8
Wednesday
Still fish in pools today but not much running, Rodger Wheater had a nice grilse 4th cast on a small tube, the boys fished hard with no other success, heavy rain late afternoon.
Thursday
Water up to 1f 10in and brown today, 6in visibility, spin water only and not a good one at that!! but there was a fish out boatpool 5lb grilse our editor David Proudfoot strikes once more seems to have the midas touch this boy, rain forecast overnight!!
Friday
Rising river, brown by 9 am, one Seatrout down Woodside in the morning, river bright red at 11am.
Saturday
Water dark beer colour, and rising all day, no fish lets, hope its better next week!!
Other
Well done to those catching fish, the more difficult the conditions the more determined to catch, had a fab day on Thursday with the boys

Monday
Good looking water today 1f 10 beer colour, 2 ft of visibility, one fish lost Woodside and a sea trout also not seeing much today lets hope it settles in and some fish come in.
Tuesday
Well what a difference a day makes, lots of fish lost today 2 in the dish and 4 down Woodside managed to land 3 salmon in Woodside 2 in the afternoon and 1 evening, David Sutherland had one at 15 lbs Bob Anderson one at 5lbs and yours truly a very old spring fish, good water height and colour today 1ft3 and steady, lets see what happens tomorrow J
Wednesday
Another good day today, water looking great, 1f 2 and clear, lots of grilse about but hard to keep the little buggers on the fly, 3 lost in the dish 2 in the stream, but 3 fish out woodside 5, 6 and 15 lbs all fresh J
Thursday
Another day of losing more fish, 2 lost today, a quiet day on fish movement, only a few showing in the pools and some very old fish about the boys worked hard today and lady fisher J also nice to see Ally Bremner back on the water, cant catch fish like Mrs Bell ha ha, water looking good, 1f on tank.
Friday
At last a day that we not lose any fish, 2 landed one Woodside far side 1st point flying c first 1 on the spin this week Chris Price the lucky man. Matty Bird had a nice 6lbs grilse in the evening out the boatpool on the flying c, also Ghillie and rod got very wet in afternoon thinking it would not rain. Always take a jacket boys, this is Scotland ha ha

More rain over night but before the rise colour came in from the Leader we managed to catch a fish in the Boatpool, 11lbs returned to river by Matty Bird on his birthday, lucky boy J one lost in the dish by Robin Valentine, think that’s 7 he has lost with me this year, he’s not good for my catch returns must do better J

Ghillie on holiday today so the boys fished by them selves and managed to catch 4 fish today best day of season and me not there bugger, George Elliot, Neil Sayers and Bob Laird all catching fish today, I am fishing the Tay tomorrow hope to catch some fish!! if it’s not raining

And once more rain stops play, river in flood 3f 6 and a wee bit broon, Tay the same so no fishing for me!!
Wednesday
A lot better today 1f10 and clear, some fish showing and 2 caught today both out Woodside, Charles Jeffrey had a sealiced fish his first of Bemersyde this year about time to (Picture Attached) J Phillip Walker had a nice fish 6lbs and lost one more, also a fish lost in the Boatpool. Heavy rain in morning river rose a foot by 4 pm think there will be no fishing tomorrow.
Thursday
Heavy rain over night and river once more in flood 3f 6 and a bit broon!!
Friday
2f 6 and beer colour today but dropping, 3 rods and a good morning in the Cromweil 3 fish landed and one good pull, all coloured fish and returned to water. One managed to find a hole in net before Pierce Ballantyne could get hold of it for photo (Attached) ha ha one happy man J He managed to loose 3 in the afternoon down Woodside not such a happy man haha but a nice fresh fish out Cromweil pm 6lbs, also a 15lbs out the Boatpool angler John Cook, both on the fly, Willie Gunn tube. His friend Jeff had a small accident while netting a fish, (Photo Attached) glad its summer time.
Saturday
Great water today 2f falling, Robin Valentine took heed of last weeks Farr side and managed to land 3 fish in morning out of woodside 8,14 and 3 lbs all fresh, Willie Gunn tube doing the damage again 2 returned the 3lbs grilse taken, he lost one other fish only because hook broke some choice words where muttered i think. He managed a fish out boatpool 14lbs and a 5 lbs seatrout in afternoon only one other rod had a hold of a fish all day congratulations Robin but try not to where light trousers when your waders leek at the crotch not a good look ha ha ha
Next week could be fab water lets hope we catch lots of fish boys and girls things are starting to really hot up.

The Farr Side w/e 9th September 2012 Monday Today had all the signs of a great day on the river good water hight 1f 4 colour fab just a nice day for fishing but it took us till the afternoon to catch a fish 2 out Woodside on the spin rod, Toby and flying (c). Very few fish showing today in the pools was hard work today expected to catch more than we did. Tuesday 3 rods today all fished hard and only one seatrout landed out of Woodside and returned to water. Even if they look fresh at this time of year not worth reading them there last rights, water down to 9 inch. Wednesday Water down to 6 inch today Charles Jeffrey managed a fish out of Woodside first point, coloured hen returned. Fish showing all over pools and another fish in afternoon from Woodside, John Munsey,10lbs on the spinner after fishing the fly all day John managed to fall in twice down Woodside in the afternoon thats 2 men in five days happy Thursday A success on the fish catching front in the afternoon, 2 fish landed out the Boatpool, right bank, on the flying (c) the other 2 out the stream, float line fast tip and a cascade. Callum McCready the lucky man 17, 5, 6 and 9lb fish returned to river (Picture Attached). He also lost 1 other!! Water 6 inch and clear. Fish still showing in pools, some fresh. Friday Very quiet day today 3 rods and not even a pull, only old fish showing today. Water down to 4 inch need some water now. Saturday Better day today for fishing, warm some cloud and some fresh fish about. Robin Valentine had a sea liced fish out Woodside (Jock Shure) and Andy Britton had the first fish for the year out Top Corbie, nice fresh fish 5lb (Picture Attached) Last week for the syndicate rods next week keep this up boys and we will make100 for your time on river happy

Monday
Wet and windy today, water 4 inch and clear at 8am, by 11am water rising, 3 pm it was 1f 6 no colour. Only had a hold of one fish today in the dish in the morning, the rise in the water level killed it today. Lots of red fish running on the water in the afternoon.
Tuesday
3f 6 and broon, now we will see if there are any fish to come in from the sea.
Wednesday
1f 10 and a beer colour today, but looking good. Shame the fish not think the same thing only one red fish landed Woodside 1st point 12 lbs Peter Tailor his first day this year and a fish. He also lost one more!! note to all fishermen don't trust braided loops on fly lines unless you whip them on yourself, hard to catch them easy to lose,
Thursday
Great day today 1f 6in and nice colored water, 5 fish landed today 2 taken and 3 returned to river. Callum McCready had 3 fish out of Woodside 5, 8, 12lbs John Pees 1 fresh grilse 4lbs out of the Cromweil, fast tip and inch tube, Johns guest Chris Noble landed 2 also.
Friday
Water 1ft in the morning rising to 1f 6 at 4pm, only one fish landed today but the biggest one for the season 20lbs cock fish caught out Cromweil, Ian Pollitt the lucky man (Picture Attached), mind he thought he was stuck on bottom for a while ha ha, small Willie Gunn tube, intermediate line, the rise in the water killed it in afternoon, bad wind today making it hard for the boys.
Saturday
Water back down to1ft today, wind still bad though, it took us till 4:45 to catch a fish out Woodside1st point, 8lbs colored fish returned by Robin Valentine that made 100 for the spring and summer yahoo J
I hope to see all you boys and girls next season for more fishing and laughs, had a great time with you all. I think you did extremely well to catch so many fish in not the best conditions over the spring and summer.

Monday
Water 6 inch today clear but windy. We moved to 6 rods today and welcome John back as my second ghillie for another year only one fish lost today disappointing to say the least heavy rain in afternoon head ghillie managed to fall in today going up to the dish, first time in 15 years, nice and wet, phone is ringing also think its dead just glad no one had a camera ha ha.
Tuesday
River up to 1f 2 slight colour, 3 fish lost today, seeing some fish on the move in most of the pools but hard to get the little buggers to hold on.
Wednesday
Very quiet today, not a fish hooked all day, very quiet morning with not much showing, more fish about in the afternoon but a little bit too sunny, water 9inch today, need some more rain now water getting low.
Thursday
Bonjour!! At last some fish landed on the beat, 3 in fact, 1 out the Boatpool, 6lbs coloured hen, 1 Woodside 7lbs and 1 Dish 12lbs red cock, lost 1 more in the Dish on the Sunray, my French angler a very happy boy. In the afternoon heavy rain, will flood tomorrow, had a booking come in today in afternoon for tomorrow please check weather forecast if you are booking short notice.

6 ft on the gauge and very brown, no fishing today L
Saturday
Water back down to 2f 8in and falling, 3 foot of visibility and the sun is out. Not seeing much today only 1 brown trout on the line, nice one 2lbs bigger than the salmon i see them land at Ravenswood ha ha mind its nice to see them actually land a fish on a Saturday makes a change. More rain forecast for next week lets hope we don't get too much and some more fish arrive in river after this flood it’s been a hard week for rods and ghillies up and down the river.

Monday
Another wet and windy day on the river, 1f 6in and clear, 3 fish in the morning, 2 Woodside far side, fast tip no6 cascade and 1 in the dish wet2 Willie Gunn tube, not seeing much today, small pockets running past, river up 6in in the afternoon but no colour yet, forecast not good over night!!
Tuesday
Rain Rain Rain and more Rain, river 6ft rising and very broon up to 8f 6in at 5pm still rising!!
Wednesday
Flood 5ft and broon at 8am still 5ft and broon at 5pm and heavy showers all day, bugger we might not fish this week L if more rain comes we will find out if there are any fish to come in when if drops to a fishing height.
Thursday
Still in flood 4ft and brown, no fishing today but work goes on in hut refurb, new flue and stove sand blasted and painted going to look good me thinks.
Friday
Better looking water today 3f 2in. Leader still putting in a lot of colour today visability 2 foot in boat pool and Woodside, only a foot in the Cromweil no fish today only seen a few on the move, should be better on Saturday I hope.
Saturday
At last a fish from Woodside, 6lbs caught by my novice rod Vince Sibley a very happy bunny. Leader still putting in some colour must be some bank damage up there it sould be clear by now. Not seeing much about in the pools, disapointing after all this water let’s hope some more fish arrive in river soon or it could be a long season.

Monday
Things have not changed since last week, lots of water and not many fish on the go, 3ft on the gauge and 3 ft of visibility today but not a pull all day.
Tuesday
Water down to 2ft7 today and clear,1 fish landed out Woodside and another lost, some fish on the move today but hard to catch, water up in afternoon by a inch more rain to come tonight I am told, don’t need any more rain just more fish.
Wednesday
Another rise in the river today 3f 4 and coloured, the boys fished all day in poor conditions, we managed to catch one in Jocks Shure 5lbs and fresh, seen very few fish today. Alan Morrison the lucky man. (Picture Attached)
Thursday
Better water colour was still big 2f 7 and falling, 3 fish today 1 Woodside 1st point fast tip Junction Shrimp 7 lbs coloured, 2 Cromweil 17lbs coloured hen Willie Gunn and a small grilse, Junction Shrimp both returned.
Friday
2f 6 clear water, 2 fish today 12lbs and 6lbs both returned to water, Woodside and Cromweil still not many fish showing in the pools beginning to wonder if any fresh fish will come this year.
Saturday
Water dropped to 2f 2in today so can get in the dish at last, it opens up so much more fishing. 3 landed today 2 in the Dish and 1 Copper Beech and 2 lost. Sea liced fish today nice to see them nice J The Greg party had 8 fish for 3 days could and should of been better just not the fish here to catch this week.

Monday
At last some fish to catch after last weeks floods, perfect water, 1f 6in and crystal clear, 9 fish in all, best day of season this year, 4 fish in the morning out Woodside and 1 out the Dish. The afternoon brought another 4 fish to the net 2 Cromweil 1 Upper Corbie and 1 Woodside. The fish ranged from 6 to 9 lbs only one fish taken all the rest returned to river. Jim Reid caught 3 fish mind it’s only taken him 9 month to catch those lets hope he continues to catch now ha ha ha. Keith Skeoch 1 and Patrick Ruane 4 even the Ghillie managed to catch a fish today happy days J
Tuesday
Another good day, water 1f 6 steady and clear, 7 fish of the beat today 1 Cromwiel, 2 Top Corbie, 2 Woodside, 2 Stream. Brrrr it was cold, minus 3 in morning water temp down to 43 today, need the thermals on now!! Some fresh fish today, James Aird at last caught a fish at Bemersyde he been trying for nearly 10 years then he gets 2 in 20 mins.
Wednesday
Quieter day only 3 fish, 1 Copper Beech small grilse 3lbs, 2 Woodside 11lbs fresh and 3lbs. The sun in afternoon killed the fishing, water dropping slowly 1f 2in and clear not many fish running some new rods on tomorrow lets hope they can keep up the good work
Thursday
Water 1f and falling, 4 fresh fish, 2 out the Cromweil and 2 Woodside also1 lost in the Boatpool at the net and 1 in the stream. Hard work today!! Fish caught on inter lines and fast tips and tubes. Heavy rain in afternoon, water temp 44, also we had the first swimmer of the back end today Woodside slippy stones he said J
Friday
BIG BIG flood today 10ft on the gauge, lots of trees coming down river.
Saturday
4f 6 and brown today it might fish on Monday just as long no more rain over weekend!!

Monday
Water down to a reasonable level considering the water the weekend before, 2f8in and water clarity 2ft. Seen a few fish running pools today, was expecting to see lots more, only one fish caught out farside Woodside 6lbs clean fish.
Tuesday
Rain overnight and water rising by 9am, lots of leaves in water and by lunch up a foot and coloured, only old fish seen today and not many of them. Casting lessons in afternoon for the rods and some good progress made. J
Wednesday
Heavy rain in morning water started at 2f7in and by lunch it was 4f and very red, 5pm seen it 6ft on gauge and still rising hard!!!
Thursday
And yet another flood 8ft6in on the gauge.
Friday
Rising once more could see in 6 inches, Leader still putting a lot of colour in today. L
Saturday
Still a big water today 3ft7in, some colour, no fish today and only seen a few mostly coloured. Could be good next week.

Monday
Great day today, perfect height and colour, 2 foot on the gauge. 7 fish came to the net, 2 dish 21lbs and 18lbs great fight from both of them, caught by Johan Axtelius he also had a fish out Boatpool in the afternoon about 9lbs. Jim Reid managed 2 fish Woodside 6 and 5 lbs, Keith Skeoch1 fish out Woodside 6lbs and Hamish McAllister-Williams also had a 9lbs fish. Only one fish taken today the rest returned to the river.
Tuesday
1f10in with heavy rain in the morning and a cold wind, the morning brings a 20lbs red fish to the net in the Boatpool, only one other pull in Woodside in the morning. Keith Skeoch had a nice fresh fish out the Dish with me in the afternoon he only had an hour so did real well. Also a fish out Woodside, 6lbs farside Rodger Ahlfors. Lots of fish showing in the pools, river up to 2foot at 5pm should drop by morning I hope. Leaves are a bit of a nuisance today with the high wind.
Wednesday
Water height 2 foot and clear except all the leaves in the water. Lots of fish in the pools but hard to catch, not even a pull, lets hope its better tomorrow. New rods on for rest of week, 4 Ladies, and they can fish!!
Thursday
Rising water started at 1f 10 in by lunch it was 2f 4 in, no colour but lots of leaves. No fish today plenty in the pools but again hard to catch.
Friday
1f 10 in and clear, not a bad day 3 fish landed 2 out the Dish and 1 Woodside, Keith Skeoch 11lbs, Nick Coy 9lbs fresh and Richard 4lbs. Some rain today, we are seeing some fresh fish but they were running hard
Saturday
Water up once more 2f 6 so no dish fishing in the morning. Some colour but not much, seemed to put the fish of today, water dropped 4 inch over the day. We gave the dish a shot in the afternoon, hard work for the ghillie and no fish for my efforts. With a settled weekend the water height should be spot on for Monday
