Well, here we go again Tyne opens tomorrow with around 18" on the guage and running nice and clear as it usually does in early spring. This cold snap isn't going to help upstream movements above Riding Mill, however,a small number of fish have already been through the pass and rods can expect the odd springer up towards Hexham. Lower river beats such as Bywell and Wylam should fish well early on and undoubtably The Fed will be claiming the first fish although it will be a rawner, same as last season! Good luck and tight lines to one and all The Tonester

V quiet at the minute, lets hope next weeks rain moves the fish up from Wylam(its chockablock down there)and on to our beats a couple of miles upstream Most of you know that my club,NERAC,aren't fishing Wylam pool this season, its in the hands of WAC who have managed 2 fish so far Oddly, theres more fish this season in the pool and by this time last year we had 26(twenty six) on the bank All the gear,no idea springs to mind.Tut tut tut. Make a nice change for the fish to get further upstream to have flees cast to them rather than being bombarded by eejits with 25g flying C's every 2 minutes, which is the chosen method of the WAC "experts". Ho ho ho

bit under the belt that comment Tony, considering most of my mates fish Wylam, er and 15gm c's are used as they buy them from me. Not many takers thats whats happening, and not as much rod pressure as when NERAC had the South Bank or should i say borrowed it for a few seasons Not to worry bud i dont fish it either so no hard feelings eh
