Little Blackhall/Inchmarlo end of February, Cairnton start of March. Hope the Tony and Phil team leave a few for those fishing after them! First time on Cairnton, really looking forward to wetting a line.

I had a very special day today. Attended the opening of the Dee ceremony then dashed to Invery to join Iain Wood of FishPal's party. When i arrived they had already had 2 springers, inc a stunning 17lb fish, a fish with huge shoulders and a very conservative 17lbs i thought. With 3 on the bank, Jock Montieth adding to the bag with a 13 lb fish by lunchtime and numerous kelts they had a great morning and i was bursting to start!
I had a great afternoon, and ended up with 3 springers to 8 lbs and the teams tally for the day was 8 springers and a lot of kelts. A very special opening day!
Thanks to Iain Wood and the team for the great day and company, super fun, Karl Revel, top ghillie, for putting me right onto the fish and Ross Macdonald for those very special Monkey flies.

Well Done Dave! Not bad for an afternoon's fishing. Congratulations. Good start for the Dee so far. Hopefully it wil continue.

The river is thick with grue today. Had a drive over the Park bridge and Maryculter bridge this morning. Not sure much fishing will take place. It's still -6 at the moment.
