Worst tally for 15 years with 17 fish. Biggest were two at 16lbs, one from the Nore and one from the Awe. But then I also caught my personal best sea-trout, also 16lb-ish, in Norway.

I'm guessing that Ken's vote was the 50-100 fish for the season. Oh to live closer than 100 miles from a salmon river!

About average 5 Lost 3 as well. Resonable enough given the days out conditions faced and the runs of fish. I expected to do better during the back end with pool stuffed with fish but couldnt get a pull from middle September to the close Overall though it was a poor year. A little spring fishing done. Even less done at home, with no real grilse run and loads of fish at the back end but no takers

I managed 32 this year with one of about 23-24lb. We were lucky on Lewis/Harris this year as our grilse run appeared as good as or better than normal.

Best ever season, both numerically & sheer excitement value:
Mostly fish from t'other side of the pond, though:
2 new anadromous spp added to list; best ever steelhead day;
First (of many) on a cane rod (Bob Clay);
First Norwegian fish;
First few from the Spey:
Sheer excitement on a sunray/monkey!

Is the poll for salmon only? wot about us trout fishers - where the real skill is ;D ;D
This was my 1st season salmon fishing and I managed to catch 2. Both late in evening on the same fly, in the same small pool and using the same approach, down stream mend and let the fly shoot across the pool at about mid depth. 1st fish about 7 or 8 pounds. A week later the 2nd fish about 12 or 14lb. Both were very red cock fish.
The down side is I sacrificed my trout fishing to catch a salmon.

Not my best season by any means...4 compared to 16 last season. That's salmon fishing eh? How did your season finish Kenny? I had 96 with 55 in Russia and the rest from the Dee. I was pleased that I had 85 on a Park shrimp over the season from tubes to size 13's. Works for me so that takes a bit of guesswork out of it.

Superb tally Kenny. What was your other productive flies this season on the Dee? I have to say Ross ties really fine Park shrimps for me that bring me luck.
