Just incase anyone is interested, there has been a major diesel spill which has been entering the Aberdeenshire Don for the last few weeks. It has been reported dozens of times to SEPA and Scottish Water. It is entering the river at the Parkhill area just above the old railway bridge. There are booms in place which at first, did very little as they were not secured to the outflow properly. www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2472672I bet if this happened on the neighbouring Dee there would have been hell to pay and it would have been sorted out immediately. The ADAA have been trying all they can to get it sorted ASAP. I just hope whoever is responsable get hammered. Mind you the oil companies seem to think they are invinsible up here. This is the best time of year to be on the Don so I wonder how much this will effect the fishing and in the long term eg wildlife, plants and future stocks etc? Any hoo....That's my rant over!
