This is one I tied a wee while back using utc 140 red thread for the body.  Very nice Dave - fantastic fly!! What do you recommend for the tails? I'm using stripped white and natural cock feathers - but they seem 'thin' compared to yours and other versions I have seen. So I must be using the wrong stuff... Cheers, Patrick |

The feelers on my fly are also stripped cock hackles.
The ones I use are orvis strung hackles. Just select the ones with a suitable heavy stem. Some of the thicker stems may require a soaking in water to prevent them being brittle and kinking when you tie them in.
Chinese cock hackle stems are prefect for the francis.
