Surely there are far more attractive looking places on the Clyde?

Surely there are far more attractive looking places on the Clyde? For what I guess not then.

Surely there are far more attractive looking places on the Clyde? Of course there are, the opening day location was selected at a location in the stretch of River the Association are in the process of purchasing. With respect to the acquisition, it was an entirely suitable venue.

Kenmcel,
If you clarify the question I could agree or disagree. I'm very astute, but when you shy away from ACTUALLY posing a question, it's difficult to guess what you are on about.
Lochmor did ask, so why not answer him?

Gents it was just my opinion that the venue was horrid looking. I have fished the Clyde a few times a season for over 30 years give or take and just thought they could have picked a nicer looking venue. No need to get all hot and bubbly gents.

Thankyou for clarifying, and your right. It's February so there's no flowering on trees etc, so even here doesn't as nice as it can. The location was chosen as it provided safe access for people, and it is on the stretch the club is purchasing. There was a casting afternoon planned after the ceremony which was to be held a few hundred yards downstream, but as you can see there had be a lot of rain so the river was high. I am sure you will agree, a nicer location, on the stretch the club are purchasing the fishing rights for, but doesn't afford the same ease of access as the original site.

Gents it was just my opinion that the venue was horrid looking. All that was missing was the fanny pads on the trees. I have fished the Clyde a few times a season for over 30 years give or take and just thought they could have picked a nicer looking venue. No need to get all hot and bubbly gents. You are of course entitled to your opinion as it is your right. Steve has explained the reasons for the location of the opening day ceremony. Other venues are being looked at for the next one but I think we will be hard pushed to find a more suitable location. Since the opening day ceremony the MCAA committee have had only positive feed back from the guys who were there on the day, no complaints so far, so I think we must be doing something right. The Sunday clean up is starting again shortly,we are always looking for new members and non members to lend a hand if you fancy it. Dates will be posted on this thread shortly.

Thanks for clearing that up, and can only agree that makes sense in your choice for suitability for access. Yes I know the Clyde and can only agree the best spots are far from bridges and lay bys for parking. My job and permanent base is out west these days but the family are down once a month or so visiting grannies so I will look out for the clean ups and would love to lend a hand if I'm around gents. Great initiative may I add.
