Never fished these beats before. I know they are opposite each other and operate a double bank divisional system where the length of each beat is split in half but you get both banks depending on which day of the week it is.
Fancy a Saturday cast therefore it's a choice of 'upper' Taymount or 'lower' Stobhall.
Simple question - which has the better fly water / wading ?
Opinions greatly appreciated.

Both beats have some of the finest flee water on the Tay.
Tight lines what ever beat you decide on.

Both beats are superb. Bottom beat with linnpool would be my choice at this time of year. But as above both beats are superb. You'll be spoiled for pool choice they all look stunning.

One big water down there though and must be intimidating for fishing the fly I would think.

It looks that way at first glance but when you get in about the pools they all have a really nice character to them and you always feel as though you are covering likely water. I did batter through them with a Salmo as well mind you!

I have just been informed through the grape vine that there is a 'New' Head Gillie about to start on Taymount (Bob White) from the Stanley Beat.
I wonderd if anyone on here had more information on this?
