Any one ever tried Loch Ba?
I recall reading about this loch that is situated to the West of Loch Laidon and just North of Bridge of Orchy.
I read that 30 - 40 fish (small generally) are to be expected.

Its good fishing up there we walked over to it from Loch Laidon. Fish aren't big but the 3 of us fishing easily had over 100.the traditional floating line and a team of 3 fleas worked the best for me. its wild country up its just a mass of peat hags.

This little roadside loch which is located next to the main A82 Glasgow-Fort William road on the Rannoch Moor has been plundered for years by fishing clubs from all over the West and Central Scotland. Fishing with the live Minnow takes its toll of fish every year on this little loch as no size limit seems to be adhered to by some of these fishers!
At one time there used to be a bailiff on it charging £1 to fish per day, and there was also a boat house on it which housed a rowing boat, but throughout the years the boat house & boat disappeared, like the bailiff also. The Ba however is on both sides of the road, on the left hand side the smaller of the two it is called the Stang (which means feeder tank) and the other Loch when coming onto the moor at first from the Bridge of Orchy is Lochan nah-Achlaise which has been known to yield the odd Ferox, though looking at this loch there is no recognisable feeder burns into it?

Think we use to get permit at the Kingshouse Hotel. We were told every time we fished it to kill everything we caught as it was overpopulated. We would take a camping stove, frying pan and butter and cook eat what we caught at the side of the loch. I remember once three of us were sitting near the car eating our fish when a car stopped and American came over, asked to take a picture of us. After taking pictures the man and his wife ended up sitting eating fresh trout for the next hour. A word of warning though- dont go during midge season. A mistake you only make once.

Loch Laidon was where my Uncle Tom took me to go fishing in 1968.
My younger cousin and my Dad (who did not fish) also went along
All I can say is I never saw so many trout caught in one day.
Many happy memories of the entire trip

We once stopped at the side of the loch one day to ask a fisher how he was getting on, He said he had caught 6 trout, He kept them in a crisp packet.

though looking at this loch there is no recognisable feeder burns into it? AL Lochan nah-Achlaise (Hellish) is joined to Loch Ba by a small burn. Near enough all the Lochs on Rannoch Moor are interconnected by a maze of small burns and rivers so fish can move from one Loch to the next very easily. Never heard of Ferox in Lochan nah-Achlaise but there is a few surprises to be had on Rannoch Moor so it would not surprise me. ;D Heres a small silvery fish i caught from Lochan nah-Achlaise. CLICK
