yes cut the front into a point then cut the tip off the point once they are wet they still hold their shape plus have loads of movement and easier to get than Monkey fished some t-dog types in the spring they looked braw but were a bit big

I posted a thread on another nameless site a year or more ago and I asked the question would Rainbow flees catch salmon or words to that effect and this thread just proves that it is possible to fish with them as these flys clearly demonstrate. Now you can by zonker strips cheaply when one compares the prices to salmon materials (at least for the time being till they hear salmon guys are interested!!) and they come in ready cut strips of different widths and colours. As can be seen here www.sportfish.co.uk/product/wapsi-magnum-rabbit-zonker-stripsThere are of course cheaper places to buy these but gives you an idea of the colours that can be purchased off the shelf. Now back to the patterns - would a simple thin strip aka this type of fly: www.sportfish.co.uk/product/zonker-black work? if not a little extra crystal/mylar hair etc would brighten it up a tad. At only £1.25 each, worth a try a think

Newtyle breeding program for zonker strips also stew in cold months burgers in summer Duncan how do you find them for weight once they get wet,we used to tie up epoxy zonkers for browns in Linlithgow loch but the difference when they got wet was unreal first batch eyes were on top with epoxy they swam upside down, next batch eyes and epoxy lower They worked odd brown to 6lbs but the punk rockers, henry humphbacks (perch) loved them to an extreme
