Possibly looking for a 9/10 wt shooting head/running line to go with a Gem 14 ft rod. Any ideas of a good set up and a reasonably priced. sewinfly..................... I've got a Guideline DDC Connect 9/10 which was cut down to suit my Greys 8/9 rod. It works superbly with the AWM 9/10 with about a foot outside the tip ring. Its not for sale like As an alternative, you could try a Snowbee 1D,which work well with polyleaders so quite versatile and no need for an expensive running line.I've got the sink tip version and I'm using it more than the S/H these days As a price comparison, the S/H set up(including Rio running line, which is great btw),was @80 quid. The 1D can be had for aboot £45.Nice Tone

Afs Floating / int tip, give it a try...then back to a full line forever more horrendous line the worst I have had the displeasure of using, even worse than the other "casts like a bag of spanners" afs, the old s3

Guideline Int/S1 is superb, lovely to fish.
On the Dtx, a 10/11 afs or try find an uncut 11/12 Power Taper and trim to suit.
The loomis #11 head is 45.something grams and turns big, heavy or hairy things.

What shooting head for 16ft DTX I would try and get the uncut Guidline Power tapers and leave them at 13.5 meters for a 16 footer. If you can't get them, Get a 15 footer and use the Rio AFS floater or GuideLine distance sinkers
