Just wondering what type or style of cast members find best to use if they which to get optimum distance.
For example, landing a fly a few inches from the other bank but everything under control and without "bursting the shoelaces".

Single spey with a good dose of effort, and of course drift  I knew i should have videoed Scott explaining the drift in his distance style this afternoon:D A snap t that's pretty open gives you almost as far, and negates most of the timing issues

Bubble at end of line. Flies above it on droppers.

Only ever used for seatrout at night. But had the odd salmon too.

cool thought for salmon it was bubble then 6-8ft nylon then flea I've no idea , Martin. It's very popular in parts of Ireland. Maybe some of the lads from there could help out ??

Bubble and fly is Robert Gillespie's favourite way of fishing the Moy for salmon, apparently.
