Stevie does this help Two handed fly casting, speycasting techniques by Al Bhur Page 78 DRIFT, the intentional movement of the rod in the same direction that the line is travelling after the stop,This rod repositioning increases the length of the casting stroke to the following cast
Spey casting Simon Gawesworth,Page 280 DRIFT,When the rod drifts backat the end of the backstroke, while the rear loop is travelling back, this gives the caster a longer forward stroke greater accelaration ,higher line speed and more distance
Reference in the following DVD'S SPEY TO Z by Way Yin and Topher Brown, incidentley a Mr Scott MACKENZIE ,done one of the testimonts to DVD, well it says that name on cover and that he is Ness side ghillie, instructor and three times gla game fair int spey casting champion ,maybe Scott can put tuppenceworth in assume it was the 14 footer i had shot of stevie that worked a lot better with v loop and drift long rod movements The drift is also mentioned in Joan Wullf's dynamics of fly casting, but thats overhead casting thats me bein a smart ass stevie waiting for the pelters honest am a big boy willnae tell ma da ,or as some say spoil sport ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

There was only a few minutes with the drift today on the Norway and Afs, the rest was the evils of shooting heads and that gentle Tay Breeze I like to refer to as "that ******* wind". Who parked the boat so near the demo croy anyway Look at the loading curve on that blank, I stand corrected the line does go quite well. 75' head + the gentle tay breeze in the trap is only going to end one way. You had a few moments dancing with the Norway too, It's never dull on Newtyle

The guests always leave with another pearl of wisdom. Last visit it was; Norway +75ft outside the tip and a competition is always going to end in the rod complaining. Bad times This time it was when the "Gentle Tay Breeze" rattles downstream and your mid cast, your lying to yourself thinking "act, I'll make the cast...", unless you have been at the dancing recently then your probably not going to be able to shimmy out the way before it impales you. David's been practicing

Salars were a safety precaution, they are that feeble in size 13 I'm sure I would have no problem pulling them out. I picked up a bundle of weed last night one hooked and it bent one of the point out. Useless useless, far too expensive hooks. That flea is pretty although, tasty if your a salmon
