Taking a header in cold water (especially if it's fast moving) is 'not a good thing.' Take a look at these Aluminum bar bottomed 'over shoes.' They look 'clunky' but they WILL hold on any type of rock surface.
Stream Cleats: www.pacificflyfishers.com/Catalog/ProductPages/Waders/WadersProdDetail/DBaileyCleats.htmThe soft Ally bars really do dig into the rock surface far better than regular studded boots. Cheapest 'life insurance' policy I have. Fred Thanks for the link Fred they look ideal for slippery rocks.

Looks like some cracking fish in tough conditions. Another great adventure and some quality pics. Thanks for sharing them!

Hi Joe-it was bloody hard going at times and tested your casting abilities. I suppose if it wasn't really challenging the capture of fish would be devalued. To capture the king of fish in tough conditions makes them all the more memorable for us brothers of the angle.

Hi Ken, what are the gloves they use in Russia for holding the fish? Great idea so you don't mark or burn the fish with you're bare hands Might be a good idea for all anglers who practice C&R and want to photograph their catch to have a pair!

Aye Tony they are a very light cotton glove which they insist you wear when handling fish for the brief photo opportunity.
