Right guys.
Thought I would get April up and Running with another flyswap.
Usual rules apply.
10 places up for grabs.
each entrant will tie 10 identical flies of their choice on completion of tying. flies will be sent to myself (PM for address) Along with a stamped self addressed envelope for the return postage.
I will then compile 10 setas of flies containing 1 fly from each entrant, and post them back out to you.
This months Theme is Squirell, ie all flies must contain squirell hair in the pattern.
1 Ballingall512 2 Underghillie 3 Salmonnut (litebrite ghillie) 4 tyneytone (squirrell monkey) 5 Granters 6 Northwestern 7 8 9 10
Lets try and get this one filled up pretty quick this time.

here's my pattern for the swap. It's based on a steelhead pattern called the Spawning Purple, i've slightly re-jigged the colours, and replaced the purple wing with black squirrell. tied these on a size 10 low water, looks like a good grilse catcher to me. haven't tied much in the last few months so i struggled to get the heads a uniform size, but i'm happy enough with the proportions, and will tie some in different sizes for the season to come. I really like the colours in this one. Anyway, i give you.....The "Spawning Squirrell" (a sight to behold in a woods near you ;D" Tail- Orange fox Tag- Silver flat tinsel Body- Dubbed orange glister First haclkle- Orange cock, 2 turns Wing- Black squirrell 2nd hackle- Yellow badger Neck hackle- Red Guinea Fowl Head- yellow thread I use an old toothbrush once the fly is finished to give it a good scrub and get that orange glister "roughed up". really makes a difference

You will be the last entrant, as I am closing this months swap for entries after tonight. so no need for anybody to tie 10 patterns this month (sorry granters )

Mine will be in post this week too Dave, I've done 6 " Fhorsa Blue". Invented by an old gillie from the Fhorsa system on the Isle-of-Lewis, where i am from. I dressed them on 1" aluminium slipstream tubes, but they can be tied on doubles or trebles. Like i said before, mine won't be the neatest or most complicated, but, this fly is superb for sea-trout and grilse and will catch you fish all season long.. Tightlines...NW
